The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce is launching a “Shop Local” Campaign, aimed at jump-starting a trend of commerce within the immediate Ossining area. The Board of Directors will be getting the message across through flyers, posters, banners, and storefront window decals for participating businesses.
“ During these times of economic uncertainty and fiscal instability we must work together with members of the community and local businesses to connect them and focus on creating ‘in-town’ commerce. ” — Director Peter Tripodi The Board has created a flyer with maps and names of businesses located within Ossining and Briarcliff that are members of the Chamber. The brochure also includes the Chamber’s website and contact info, along with a brief history of Ossining. The 29th Annual Village Fair on June 13th will be the starting point of the campaign. They are urging all businesses that wish to join the “Shop Local” campaign to contact them immediately and join the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce.
“ While the economy has many of us living within our means, shopping locally can maintain that fiscal discipline as well as help spur economic development locally. Why waste time and money on gas when you can drive or walk down the street to shop. " — Director Gayle Marchica |
