A big thank you to all of our sponsors
YOU ROCK!!
Thanks to Sue Jimney,Kay Hawley, Marcia Sloman and all of the restaurants who participated in Noshing Night.
What a fun way to munch your way through Ossining and Briarcliff and learn about some great places. When you stop by one of the restaurants, be sure to tell them you heard about them through NOSHING NIGHT. Congratulations to the winners of the huge gift baskets from Ossining Wine and Liquor.
Dr. Andi Simon, Principal of Simon Associates Management Consultants of Yorktown Heights, shared some of her expert advice on The Customer Experience.
It's not just enough, Simon explained, to provide good service. You have to surprise your customer, make his experience memorable and different and make him feel important, special and appreciated.

Janet Martin, Chief Administrative Officer of
Emigrant Savings Bank and
talks about Ossining's new corporate citizen
February's speaker, Janet Martin, told a rapt audience about the meteoric rise of
Emigrant Direct. As the first U.S. Online Savings Bank, Emigrant 's business,
grew from 0 to $6 billion in assets in a little over a year. Starting in Ossining's
historic downtown bank building, which Emigrant beautifully restored and used to
host Ossining's first First Night, Emigrant Direct has grown from 25 to over 70
employees since they came here, and are looking to hire more of Ossining's residents.
Martin states that the reasons Emigrant chose Ossining for its Emigrant Direct headquarters
are: its value as an "undiscovered" community, its proximity to New York and the
MetroNorth railroad, and its young, vibrant, diverse community from which they draw
their work force.
